Program Description

Body

Furniture refinishing is an affordable and eco-friendly way to make better use of pieces you already own or update your curbside finds. During this part of the "Trash to Treasure" program series, Beth Arnstein, a professional furniture refinisher, will provide a demonstration teaching you the skills and materials it takes to refinish furniture. To give you the confidence you will need, you will create your own plant propagation station with reclaimed wood, allowing you to practice the refinishing skills that can be used on your own projects at home. Please RSVP

Since 2015, solo woman woodworker, Beth, has been dedicated to rescuing, re-imagining, and repurposing furniture and home decor items that would otherwise be headed to the dump. She has turned headboards into benches, built trunks out of old doors, and made candle holders out of pedestal table bases, just to name a few.  She focuses on using reclaimed materials to minimize waste and create items with an "Old Soul."  You can find her wares in Mystique Moon Antiques and Artisans in Butler, on etsy and @oldsoulpgh on Facebook and Instagram.
