Program Description
Body
Folk art of rural Pennsylvania includes braided rugs made from scraps of worn material such as clothing. These remnants of material torn into strips and sewn together were then used to create braided rugs. During this "Trash to Treasure" program series, Judy Mackenroth, spinner, weaver and farm owner of Walnut Ridge Farm, will provide a demonstration teaching you the skills and materials it takes to make braided rugs. Participants will create their own braided sample with material scraps, practicing the braiding skills that can be used on your own projects at home. Please RSVP.
