Program Description

Body

Do you dream of kingdoms in the clouds, cities on alien planets, or mysterious islands waiting to be explored?

This class is all about building your own world from the ground up. Worldbuilding is the art of creating fictional settings that feel real: places with their own cultures, landscapes, politics, religions, histories, and magic (or technology). In this program, you’ll learn how to ask the right questions, make meaningful choices, and avoid the common pitfalls that can make fictional worlds feel flat or confusing.

We’ll dive into a new topic such as from geography to government, mythology to fashion. Through interactive lessons, creative prompts, and group discussions, you’ll create a world that’s entirely your own. You can work in your favorite genre: fantasy, science fiction, alternate history, dystopian, or something totally unique.

This class isn’t just about maps and magic systems it’s about creating a setting that supports great stories. We’ll talk about how worldbuilding can reveal character, raise stakes, and deepen emotional moments. You’ll have the chance to develop your own stories or characters within your world, and you’ll get feedback in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Whether you want to write a novel, design a video game, create a tabletop campaign, or just explore your imagination, this class gives you the tools to bring your world to life.

No previous writing experience required just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to dive deep into the details.
