What is the significance, impact, and effect of teaching in the modern age? Join Monroeville Public Library for a fascinating discussion regarding student teaching in international and diverse contexts. Using personal stories, current research, and group discussions, educator Jeremy Bass will explore issues and opportunities facing teachers, student teachers, and students today.

After teaching in Scotland and several schools in the United States, Jeremy details how their intersectionality as a queer international teacher affected their teaching and student teaching experiences. They will also discuss the pitfalls and opportunities of mentoring diverse students and employees, connecting the teaching workplace to other workplaces. Jeremy received their teaching certification from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. They are currently scheduled to serve in the Peace Corps in Nepal in January.
