Program Description

Body

An Intro to Birding - Walk and Talk - Spotting and Identifying Local Birds will be led by Audubon Master Birder and author Elizabeth Pagel Hogan. 

Meeting at 8:30am, participants will enjoy a warm welcome beverage, learn about the birding apps briefly, and then walk.  Participants can stay for a portion or the entire walk estimated for 75 minutes, with an approximate 10am finish.

Participants should bring binoculars, sunscreen or a hat, and dress appropriately for the weather. For those who would like to stay indoors Penn State "Ask a Master Gardener" volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions.

Optional: Bring a smartphone, and if possible download the apps eBird and Merlin Bird ID on your smartphone before the walk."
