Birdcraft - Seed Swap

Get ready for the Great Backyard Bird Count by learning about local birds, their feeding preferences and doing some crafts. Reporting procedures and birding checklists will be provided and local artist’s Debbie Walker and Sheila Hawthorne Klotz will guide participants in birdcrafting activities to inspire our knowledge and appreciation of local Western PA birds.  Ornithologist Bob Mulvihill of the National Aviary will be on hand to answer questions.  

Participants are encouraged to bring native plant seeds to swap which create backyard habitats producing seeds, fruit nectar and other essential foods for local birds.  Native seeds will be provided at the event to support healthy bird habitats while supplies last.
